Established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in 1996, the Institute for Development & Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) works at the intersection of banking and technology. The main focus of the institution is on conducting applied research and experimental development in the area of banking technology, for which it has set up state-of-the-art research centres for aiding and enabling applied research.
IDRBT offers a range of academic programmes, designed specifically to meet both the existing and emerging human resources of the Indian banking and financial sector. The institution offers over 100 programmes that train over 2500 bankers every year.

A Professor at IDRBT, Dr. Vadlamani Ravi spearheads the Center of Excellence in Analytics, the first-of-its-kind in India and evangelizes Analytical CRM and Non-CRM related analytics. He has published over 240 papers in International Journals and Conferences and 8480 citations with an H-Index of 42 (Google Scholar). He is on the IT Advisory Committee of Canara Bank, Indian Bank and Bank of India. He is an Expert Committee Member for IRDA for their Business Analytics and Fraud Analytics projects. Some of his key research interest areas include Computing, Data Mining, Big Data, Bankruptcy Prediction, Risk Measurement, CRM, Fraud Analytics, Sentiment Analysis, Churn Prediction in Banks and Optimization.

A globally-renowned expert in Information Systems, Dr.Bose has extensive teaching, research, and consulting experience. His areas of interest include AI, business analytics, Big Data, information security, and FinTech. He holds B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur, MS from the University of Iowa, and MS and PhD from Purdue University. He has held faculty positions at IIM Calcutta, University of Hong Kong, University of Florida, and the University of Texas at Arlington. He has published articles in MIS Quarterly, Journal of the MIS, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Operational Research, Information & Management, International Journal of Production Economics, etc. He has authored several teaching cases published by Harvard Business Publishing.
An Assistant Professor at IDRBT, Dr. Mridula Verma is a research scholar from IIT(BHU). She has published several papers on Convergence analysis, Gradient Algorithm in journals like Neurocomputing, Numerical Algorithms and others. She is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and The Institution of Engineers (India). Her research interests include Machine Learning Algorithms, Data Mining, Data Science and Banking Technology.
As a Chief Learning Officer, Asokan heads the Learning and Development functions at TalentSprint.
